The Goddesses Hera, Athena, and Aphrodite were absorbed into Hellenistic culture from an even more ancient past, then reduced to shrews, whores or representations of war and logic belonging only to men. The waters of time submerged knowledge of the Great Mother, the creator of all things, but we still catch glimmers of this Almighty Three-in-one, both light and dark, creator and destroyer-the recycler of all that lives and dies.
